Is there anything that Nick Roche isn’t capable of?

Judging by his work for IDW Publishing’s Transformers comics, Nick is both a writer and an artist without compare. But what other talents can this man boast?

Nick Roche’s artwork makes a most welcome return to Transformers with “Spotlight Hot Rod”, a pneumatic actioner where Evil Kneival meets Mission: Impossible meets The Chronicles of Riddick.

After numerous covers and letters page illustrations, Nick Roche gets his first gig on sequential art for IDW with their first Transformers: Spotlight issue. Nick’s artwork is an elegance all its own and, thankfully, IDW is happy to let each artist bring their own style to their comics.

After last issue’s self-contained introduction, “Prelude: Megatron” reads more like a new chapter in an ongoing storyline. It’s almost as if “Prelude: Optimus Prime” was the pilot and this is the first commissioned episode.
