THE ASCENDING "The Ascending" is a perilous trek through the thick vines and exposed, slippery roots of the Nostalgia Jungle. It brings back painful memories of turn-of-the-century convention stories such as "Reaching the Omega Point", "Alignment", and the various post-Beast Machines "Universe" stories, all dealing with the ascension to godhood, the destruction of order and the reign of chaos.
