Flight of the Navigator

Gratuitous product placement was rife in movies, even in the 80s! Have a closer look at this screenshot of the 1987 film, "Flight of the Navigator" and you'll spot a boxed Insecticon Shrapnel in amongst some other carefully laid out Hasbro products.

The poor kid in the film has just had electrodes plugged to his brain, so I guess owning a Shrapnel is an apt choice.


Transformers products made their way into several American films of the 80s, such as a little lad in "Top Gun" playing with a Starscream toy.
