Waverider is an easy-going, good natured pacifist. He prefers underwater exploration over warfare. Initially refused the request to volunteer to become a Pretender until he realised the humourous potential of an "out of body" experience while working side-by-side with his Pretender shell. A very personable Autobot, always ready to give advice on any given situation, but only when asked. Usually low-key but when stirred into battle becomes a furious fighter and formidable adversary.

Abilities: Transforms into an aquatic sea-skimmer capable of diving to a depth of 8,000 metres. Armed for underwater combat with armoured shell, energy spear gun and a thermal broad-axe.

Weaknesses: Has a habit of taking on deep sea missions without following proper protocol. Often his fellow Autobots have no idea where he is, or that he could be trapped somewhere on the ocean floor with no way of reaching him.
