Manta Ray

“If you blink, you’ll miss me!”

Daring, reckless, with hair-trigger nerves, but hopelessly clumsy. Manta Ray is so eager to please that most of the time his enthusiasm overrides all sense of logic. Likes to keep his fuel tanks topped up, just in case he’s needed on an urgent water-borne mission. But his over-the-top attitude hides the fact that he’s a coward at heart. The thought of running into any Decepticons since his defection to the Autobot ranks, fills him with fear and unhinged paranoia. However, his partner, Leadfoot wonders if it’s just that his cerebral circuits have become water-logged.

Abilities: Manta Ray can assume the form of an earthen twin-pontooned speedboat. In this mode, he can reach speeds in excess of 200 knots. He is equipped with reinforced twin hulls that protect him from rocky seabeds and enemy boats. In robot mode, Manta Ray’s main thrust turbine converts to a rapid-launch rotoprop firing mechanism.

Weaknesses: Manta Ray’s nervous disposition makes him on the trigger-happy side when armed. His fellow Autobots are distrustful of Manta Ray at the best of times, but having to dodge his friendly fire makes matters worse. His vehicle mode is useless on dry land.
