Hound enjoys a naïve but intelligent curiosity that leads him to question and explore everything in the environment around him. As much as he can, he prefers to turn his attention away from the endless confrontations his comrades unavoidably find themselves in. He is happy in his element of scouting fascinating new territories and relaying his findings back to the Autobot strategists. His loyalty and fearlessness are unwavering. He likes to store and catalogue every new sight he scans within his memory circuits. Hounds holds a particular affection for the planet Earth and secretly longs to be human.

Abilities: In his earthen "jeep" mode, Hound uses his turret gun to record and store all of the required visual and geographical information around him. And with the aid of his internal 3D simulation positioning circuitry, Hound can convert and process the information as a topographical map. In robot mode, Hound is equipped with an infrared radiation collector/emitter which can detect heat differentials as minute as 0.02°C. It can also be used as a heat-ray, should Hound need to defend himself. Hound is also equipped with a shoulder-mounted hologram gun that can project computer-generated three-dimensional grid laser light images, maps and holographic illusions.

Weaknesses: Hound's infrared detection ability can be hampered by thermal interference in extremely warm or cool climates. Sophisticated manipulation of high frequency electromagnetic waves can undermine Hound's topographical circuitry and even result in the recording of false images within his datatracks.
