A vision of Brawl appeared to Buster Witwicky during a nightmare in Transformers 63’s “Second Generation”.

Brawl’s first mission on Earth was to accompany Megatron and the rest of the Combaticons to Energy Futures Industries with the intent of stealing the company’s hydrothermacline technology. Oddly, Megatron seemed overly keen on showing off his new toys and had the Combaticons combine into Bruticus before even one shot was traded with Optimus Prime and his new Protectobots. The mission, ultimately a virtual failure, did result in the death of Optimus Prime.

Brawl felt the brunt of Megatron’s mental breakdown after Prime’s death (“Gone But Not Forgotten” [Transformers 107-108]) and was almost killed by his leader for questioning him.

After recovering (apparently just a severe headache) Brawl was soon back with the Combaticons. Their next mission, under Shockwave’s command, was to destroy Galvatron and Ultra Magnus (buried within Mt Verona). It was thwarted by the Throttlebots. After that, the Combaticons stalked the Autobot team, seeking vengeance. That sortie lead to defeat as well.

Brawl was last seen during an epic battle on Earth’s Moon between Ratbat’s Decepticons and the Autobots in Transformers 174-175’s “Totalled”.
